My most recent job was with the National Federation of Independent Business, the largest non-profit advocacy group for small business owners in the US. At my previous position, I was the primary content writer for marketing reports, as well as did some copywriting work for major projects. I learned and practiced marketing strategies centered around acquiring new members and reducing member churn. I conducted market research, both qualitative and quantitative, to mine for KPIs. I also gained experience outsourcing projects and collaborating with vendors on large-scale projects, being the liaison between the vendor and NFIB.

My prior job, at New South Research, is where I acquired my interest and passion for marketing and honed my skills as a content writer and copywriter. I learned on the job how to read both hard data (using SPSS software) and qualitative data (from observing focus groups) and to craft a comprehensive story from what the data is telling.

Many of the projects I assisted with at New South Research involved copywriting, such as crafting and measuring tag lines and ad campaigns. Among the larger clients I served at New South are Wrangler Jeans, Captain D’s, Southern Company, Del Taco, Burger King, Children’s Hospital, and the YMCA.
